The beginning of a new year is all about hope! It's a clean slate, a fresh start, a new beginning. And here at the beginning of 2015, we have some news to share!
Over the holiday break, we became a Wisconsin Corporation! Our official corporate name is Renewed Hope/Esperanza Renovada Incorporated. Filing paperwork with the state was the first step toward becoming a 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation. Next, we obtained our Federal Employer Identification Number, and now we are working on the by-laws and other paperwork that will be the blueprint for how we operate.
But we aren't going to wait for all of that to be in place before we begin. In the next few months, we will be giving the first "restorative escape" to a cancer survivor, at our existing cabin in Maricao, Puerto Rico.
